Today we received five new classmates... Caterpillars! We will spend the next weeks observing our caterpillars daily and watching as they change. This will go perfectly with our story next week, I'm a Caterpillar.

This week we have a lot of learning to do... :) In Reading we will read the story Where Are My Animal Friends? and learn all about how some animals hibernate in the winter. Where Are My Animal Friends? is a play with many animal characters! With this text, we will continue to discuss sequencing a story and use our prior knowledge to predict and make connections with the story. Our phonics skills this week will be the comparative endings -er and -est and how "dge" say "j!" Another rule breaker! In Writing we will write about what our favorite season is after discussing what each season is like here in Attleboro! In Math we will continue to focus on place place, but we will also learn about Number Collection Boxes, which are a fun way to write one numner many different ways! For example 15 can be 3 nickles, 10+3+2, 15 tally marks, 15 circles, etc. This week our specials schedule stays the same as last week: Monday: Gym Tuesday: Gym Wednesday: Computer Thursday: Music Friday: Art Please be sure to send sneakers in with your student on Monday and Tuesday. Also, homework and library books are due on Friday. Planning ahead.... There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, March 25. Did you see our website on Friday? We chose the theme for Mr. Cateon's hair! :) Mrs. Bower Mr. Cateon had to come visit our classroom today at the end of the day....
..... to inform us that we are the winners of the Read-a-thon!!! I am so proud of all of my students. We worked hard to support our school... and our love for technology in the classroom! Great work Room 101!!!!! We will work as a class to decide what color to paint Mr. Cateon's hair. Our class will get a front row seat as his hair gets colored in front of the WHOLE SCHOOL in late March! Thank you for all of your support for this fundraiser. Technology is such a huge part of our classroom and learning. :) KEEP READING! :) With a big smile, Mrs. Bower |
