This week is a busy one. Our schedule is thrown off again. Wednesday we will have gym at 8:20am. Thursday we will have Technology at 10:15 in our classroom. Friday everything is back to normal! Phew!! :)
In Reading this week we are reading the story The Dot. While reading The Dot we will be focusing on theme -- what's the big idea of the story? We will also be studying words that have "ea" and inflected endings. In Writing we will be writing a poem about Spring! :) In Math we are continuing to develop fact fluency. We will work on problems that are "near doubles" such as 6+7, 3+2; as well as making ten.
Friday is a Willett Spirit Day! Students and staff are encouraged to wear Red Sox (or red, white, and blue) attire to support our home team!
Book fair begins next week! We will be attending Book Fair on Wednesday, April 15 at 10:15am. More information will follow -- I just wanted to give you the date so you were aware. Book Fair is different from our book orders in the sense that students who purchase a book at the book fair receive the book that day (as long as it is in stock). When you order from a book order, I submit the order online and the books are mailed to the classroom to disperse to students who ordered.
In the homework packet that went home yesterday, the fluency passage had words cut off on the sides! I am so sorry for the confusion! I am sending home a copy of the fluency passage "Gail's Dog Runs Away" today. This is the same passage students were assessed on last Friday in the classroom. It is being sent home to reinforce skills and build on fluency.
If you have any questions, please let me know! :)
