Per parent request, I will be sending out the November Book Order early. Some families did not get a chance to use to the "Free Book Coupon" that expires 10/31 and want to use it before it expired. The November book orders will come home today. Many of the November books are holiday books. If you plan on purchasing books as a surprise or gift for your student, please be sure to let me know via email or note so that I do not send the books home with your child when they come in. Instead, we can arrange a time for you to pick them up at the office.
Homework is also coming home today. I discussed the homework packet with every student today. The cover page also goes over the expectations as well. Parents must sign the homework packet before it is returned on Friday. Homework cannot be turned in early because it is expected that every student is reading for 15+ minutes a night. Parents, you may fill in the reading log.
Mr. Cateon sent out an email with the link to sign up for BOKS. BOKS is a great program at Willett for students to get active before school starts. Every student who I have had that has done BOKS absolutely loves it. To sign up, please visit the site Mr. Cateon sent out: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0B4FAAAD23A5FB6-boks. The website explains BOKS more, but here's some information that I took right from the site:
Typical BOKS Class
- 45 minutes long
- Fun warm-up game or movement drills
- Running activity, relay races, obstacle courses and strength movements
- Fun game
- Cool down and a BOKS Bit- a nutrition component of the program
BOKS will run every Tuesday and Thursday morning before school from 7:10 am to 7:55 am. The fall session will start on Thursday, November 3rd and end on Thursday, December 15th. Parents will be responsible for transporting their children to school on those days.
Have a great day,
Mrs. Bower
