We had a great first week learning all about first grade rules and procedures. Students love playing a Room 101 favorite... Number Thief! And we had our first Fancy Friday.
We also enjoyed GoNoodle! GoNoodle is one of my favorite daily activities. It is a movement break that includes fun music and dancing. You can get GoNoodle at home. I will send home more information about GoNoodle on Curriculum Night!
Almost all of our important notices were returned within the first week. A few families did not return the last page of the student handbook. Please check your handbook to see if you returned it. I will send a bye home next week if you didn't as a friendly reminder.
It will continue to be awfully hot in our classroom this week- especially with it being 95 on Tuesday. Please send your student in with a water bottle all week! These will be returning nightly for disinfecting.
Homework will not start until October. Right now we are working on classroom routines and expectations. You can find information on our homework packet on the sidebar on the left.
We started our behavior clip chart. Students can earn Bower Bucks for positive behavior. More information will be sent on this as well.
This week we will start our alphabet/Kindergarten review. Baseline assessments will start within the next couple of weeks. Our Math Baseline Assessment will be on 9/15. These assessments allow the teachers to know student strengths and areas we will continue to work hard on. These are not assessments students will study for or worry about. :)
Thursday will be a Patriots Spirit Day! Students and staff are encouraged to wear Patriots attire or red, white, and blue to support our Super Bowl Champs on the day of the home opener!
I hope everyone enjoyed a great long weekend!
