Good Evening,
I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was so nice seeing so many families of 101 at K-1 Reading Night on Friday! I was so impressed! About half of our class was there enjoying Willett's very own Polar Express! Carly loved meeting all of my students who were there... and staying up past her bedtime!
Tomorrow will be a tough morning for students (and me) as Ms. D will not be with us anymore. Many went on the bus or in the walker line with tears in their eyes. It will be an adjustment, but Ms. D promised to visit. All of the students have a very special place in her heart!
We will have Gym tomorrow (Monday, 12/7). Please send students in wearing sneakers.
We will have Library on Wednesday afternoon instead of Friday for this week only due to a conflict of schedules for the Library. Please be sure students return their library books on Wednesday.
Report Cards will be coming home on December 16th. Please sign and return the envelope that they come home in. You keep the actual report card.
This year Willett's Winter Concert (grades K-4) will be held at Attleboro High School on December 22 at 6pm! Students are encouraged to wear white or blue! :)
This week we will focus on what it is like to be part of a school community while reading School Rules and The Farmer in the Hat. We will start focusing on long vowels. This week is long a. Long a says its name! Words such as cape, name, flake, bake, rake, and late have the long a sound.
In Math we will look at data by making tally charts and bar graphs. Students will also complete an open response on the proper way to measure a marker.
We will have a homework packet this week that will go home tomorrow. Please complete this packet with your child. Students should be completing a page a night and reading for at least 15 minutes for their reading logs. It is so important that students complete their homework to reinforce the skills they are learning in the classroom. Please make sure your child takes the time to focus and complete the homework packet. Thank you!
:)
