Willett is doing a terrific job raising money for Pennies for Patients! Money was collected again on Friday, so I know the students are eagerly waiting for updated total. Money will continue to be collected until the end of this week!
This week we will continue our study of poetry and folktales while wrapping up our unit titled “Fox’s Foray.” Students will begin to make opinions about the characteristics of a fox in folktales and support their ideas with evidence from different folktales we are reading in class.
We will also wrap up Unit 7 this week in Math and take our math assessment.
Please remember to send your students in wearing appropriate clothing. It has been chilly in the classroom and out at recess. Students should still be bringing a jacket with them to school – even if it is a light one. We have had many students come in without a jacket and need to borrow one from lost and found in order to go outside to recess. It is always much better to send your student in with his/her own jacket instead of borrowing a lost and found jacket!
We will have a half day this Friday, which will also be a Pajama Spirit Day! Students can send $1 in and wear pajamas during school! Please remember that because it is a half day, school starts later (8:45am) and ends earlier (12:30pm). Lunch is not served on half days, so please be sure your child has an extra snack.
Monday, April 18th starts April Vacation! School will resume on Monday, April 25th.
Have a great week,
Mrs. Bower
