Students enjoyed spending the morning at Capron Park Zoo. We were able to see all the animals and have a picnic lunch at Capron by the playground. It was a lot of walking for the children, but I am very impressed and proud of how well they did today!
When we came back, we spent sometime reading quietly to "cool down" even though it was pretty hot and sticky in our classroom.
Then I surprised students with a special visitor to our classroom... My Dad! He came in and showed off the Super Bowl ring! Students loved checking it out. A few teachers heard he was here and even came down to check it out too!
After his visit, it was time for Music! :) Students are very tired today. I am sorry! :)
Library Book bills went home today. We have three students who received bills. Please pay the bill or return your book by the end of the week.
The year is ending quickly! Please continue reading this lengthy email for information about the upcoming days here at Willett. :)
Tomorrow we will release our butterflies who hatched over the weekend!! They are flying around like crazy in our nets!
Friday is FIELD DAY! Thank you to those who have volunteered to come help or donate items. If you still want to help out, please email Mr. Silver at [email protected]! :) Please be sure students dress appropriately with sneakers and appropriate clothing for the weather. Sunscreen cannot be applied in the classroom, so please apply it at home before coming to school.
The Specialist Showcase is next week! If you have not returned the yellow form informing the specialists if you are attending or not, please do so as soon as possible so they can get an appropriate head count.
A Whale of a Week begins next week... which is also our last week of school! Students are coming home with a half sheet of paper that details what to wear each day. I will also list it below.
Monday = Willett Wear: Show your school pride by wearing blue and white or Willett apparel!
Tuesday = Holiday Day: Celebrate your favorite holiday in June!
Wednesday = Athletic Apparel Day: also known as Mrs. Bower's FAVORITE day! Wear clothing that represents a sport!
Thursday = Luau Day: Wear APPROPRIATE colorful attire, floral/Hawaiian prints, and leis. No swimsuits or flip flops.
Friday = Everyone Show Your Colors Day: First grade has been assigned to wear the color YELLOW.
Next week, first grade will also be celebrating the last week of school by having a "camping" week. Students are encouraged to bring in flashlights (labeled with their names) to help celebrate! All week long we will be doing different "camping" related activities in the classroom and outside of the classroom!
I am sure I am forgetting something! Be on the look out for more emails! :)
