As you are aware, this will be my last week with students until March. Ms. Kopel will start officially on Monday, however she will be in Wednesday and Thursday for observation and interaction with the childrne. As informed during conferences, I am very confident with Ms. Kopel taking over while I am on maternity leave. It should be a smooth transition for the children.
While I am on leave, REMIND will not be in use. Please be sure to email Ms. Kopel or send a note in with your child should you have any questions, concerns, or changes in dismissal. You could always call the office as well to get in contact with her.
Ms. Kopel will be continuing with my weekly emails and updating the website. She will be assigned her own email address while I am on leave.
Thank you for attending Parent Teacher Conferences. It is always so great to communicate face to face about your student's progress in the classroom. .
This week we are continuing with our DESE Animal Habitats Unit. We have already learned about the desert and ocean... we will continue with the Rainforest, Grassland, and Artic! Students also learned about gila monsters, meerkats, and dolphins. It is an interesting unit!
We will also discuss Veterans Day this week and why it is so important to our country. Please remember there is no school on Friday 11/11 due to Veterans Day.
We have been, and will continue, to discuss the importance of voting, as well! :)
There will not be a homework packet this week. Instead, students will only receive a yellow reading log to complete Monday-Wednesday. The reading log is due on Thursday. Please be sure to read with your student for at least 15 minutes a day. It could be you reading to the student or the student reading to you.
We will have Library on Thursday. If your student has not returned his/her library book, please do so by Thursday.
Have a great week,
Mrs. Bower
