Thank you to all the families who offered to drop off the cards to our wonderful Police and Fire Stations! Amelia and her family delivered the cards today after school. Thank you so much!
I am so sad that I was unable to attend the Winter Concert tonight. Thank you so much to Mrs. Friess for recording both songs for me! I was smiling ear to ear and was so proud of all of my students. You did such a great job!!!!! I also might have made Mr. Bower watch the videos a few times. He now has "up, up, up" stuck in his head. Good job!!!!!! Students who complete five in a row Bingo and return it to school signed will receive a special prize!
Do you need ideas to keep your student active and busy this winter break? GoNoodle is a free and great way to "get yo' body moving!" as Koo Koo Kangaroo says!
If you haven't signed up, here's a link to sign up: https://app.gonoodle.com/s/kbower-4 Today Willett's staff wore ugly sweaters so for our fun Friday activity we designed our own ugly sweaters! I also enjoyed lunch with these great kids today! Austen spent 30 Bower Bucks on lunch with the teacher and invited Nick and Wes to join!
Today we played Fishing for 10 in Math. It is a great way to practice making combinations of 10 to increase our addition fluency. You can play this game at home using a deck of cards. You will need the cards 0-10 (each suit). You could make the Joker a 0. Good Evening!
I hope everyone enjoyed the weather this weekend! It was a great weekend to spend outside enjoying the warmth. I heard that many went to LaSallette this weekend. Have you been? We have not gone this season yet! Hopefully we will make the drive next weekend! :) Important (Date) Reminders:
This week we will be learning all about community workers as we read Who Works Here? We will discuss the importance of community workers in our community as well as long i and the digraphs wh, ch, and tch. Students should have come home last week telling you all about King Ed and how he makes the a "say your name!" Well, be prepared to now have King Ed make the i "say your name!" :) We will also work on building our addition fluency in Math by focusing on doubles, combinations of 10, and adding three numbers. These are tricky concepts for students, but will truly build fluency in addition. Have a great week... and GO PATS! Today we had a special visit from my Dad and his Super Bowl rings! Thanks for coming in Dad! :)
Be sure to watch for the man in the yellow hat during the games!! |
