Can you believe we have only a little more than 40 days left of first grade? The "end of the year" tends to bring many activities so please be sure to keep an eye out for information on upcoming events! Checking your student's Willett folder nightly is vital at this time of the year!
Speaking of activities... tomorrow we will attend a short presentation to kick off Willett's annual Pennies for Patients Campaign! Students will receive information on this tomorrow, please look for notes home about this! The class that raises the most money receives a lunch from Olive Garden! My class has never won, will this year be OUR year? ;)
This week we will be reading a great story from the Henry and Mudge series and taking our Unit 6 Math Assessment at the end of the week (Wed-Thursday). We will be writing an informational piece on how to be a good friend. Please work hard on the homework packet and study those spelling words! I know with the spring weather it is hard to focus on homework, but encourage students to read under a tree, write their spelling words in sidewalk chalk, and even do their homework outside! :) We all need fresh air and homework is not meant to keep students from that!
Have a great week!
