This week is "Screen Free Week!" The PTO is using this week to raise money for new playground equipment. There are many fun after school acitivities planned -- please see the email Mr. Cateon sent out this past weekend with more information. Since it is Screen Free Week, there will be no homework this week! Please use the normal homework time to enjoy some community activities! :)
This week's spelling words are: lie, tie, high, might, right, night, bright, light, pie, tight, above, laugh. The bonus words are: slightly and frighten. As you can tell, we are focusing on igh and ie. We will also look at silent letters such as kn, wr.
This week we will finish up our Fox's Foray unit on Folktales. Students will spend this week focusing on a fox's character in folktales. We will read Henny Penny and Chicken Little.
During Writing this week we will be creating teacher appreciation/thank you cards for our specialist teachers and teachers we work with in small group for Teacher Appreciation Week!
In Math we will continue to discuss fractions and geometry.
Have a great week,
Mrs. Bower
