Some Information About the Field Trip:
- It is a walking field trip. We will be walking from Willett to Capron Park Zoo.
- Students do not have to pay for admission, or anything. Your child's admission fee has been paid for. We are requesting that students do not send in money or bring money on the day of the field trip. We will not be going to the snack bar, gift shop, or splash pad.
- If your child will be getting lunch from school on June 8th you need to indicate it on the permission slip and return it this week. Field trip lunches from school are a bagged lunch. We have to prepare for these well in advance and need to submit our count for how many bagged lunches we need ASAP. Students WILL NOT be able to order lunch the day of the field trip. Their lunch order will have already had to of been place (by indicating on the permission slip you receive today).
- Students MUST wear sneakers on the day of the field trip. Again, it is A LOT of walking.
- If you would like to chaperone you must already have a CORI on file and the volunteer information signed off on here at Willett. We usually get a lot of chaperone requests for this field trip, so I put names in a hat and pull out names of parents who are approved (CORI form and volunteer sign off completed) by the office. Chaperones cannot bring siblings or small children on the field trip.
- Chaperones must pay for their own admission fee. However, if you have a Capron Park Zoo Membership, please let us know and we will inform the zoo. You will need to bring your membership card with you to present it the day of the field trip I believe. Once I notify you that you are a chaperone, please send your admission fee in ASAP so we can submit it with our zoo cost.
- Chaperones must be willing to walk from Willett to the zoo, around the zoo, and back to Willett. It is a lot of walking. Please keep that in mind. :).
Thank you,
