I am officially back! :) Students are doing a great job adjusting and I am so happy to be here. It was tough dropping Ben and Carly off at their schools today, but seeing all of these smiling faces sure made it easier.
We have been very busy this morning working on classroom routines and expectations. It is so nice to see that students have not forgotten my classroom expectations.
This week we are taking a break from Reading Street. Instead, we are going to discuss the life cycle of a caterpillar and butterfly. We will research about the life cycle and write about each stage that a butterfly goes through. This information will be used in our "journal" where we are writing about what it is like to be a caterpillar/butterfly. Today we are writing about what it is like to be in an egg.
We will be taking our Unit 6 Math Assessment today. Tomorrow we will start Unit 7.
Since we are taking a week off of Reading Street, we will not have spelling words or a homework packet. Instead, students will just have a Reading Log. Please be sure students are reading for twenty minutes each night and filling out the reading logs.
I am working on getting Scholastic Book Orders home. I will get them out this week so if you would like to order books, you can. Book orders will be due back 3/31. If you would like to start looking and ordering in the meantime you can order online using our unique code GZV3K.
Have a great week,
Mrs. Bower
