This upcoming week is a busy one. I know Friday is Halloween, however we do not celebrate it in school. This means students cannot come to school in costumes. However, we encourage students to wear orange and black if they would like to be festive.
For Reading Street we will be continuing our theme of Animals Tame and Wild by reading the story Animal Park. This is our first Photo Essay story of the year. This means we will be discussing Nonfiction features. We will also talk about Cause and Effect, Short u, and final blends. This is the last of our short vowels (next week we will just review them).
In Math this week we are finishing Unit 2. We will have a Unit 2 Assessment on Wednesday and Thursday. If you have no had a chance to check out the Everyday Math Website (Mrs. Coates sent home user names/passwords and the link)- this is a great week to do so! It has lessons of what we have done this whole unit. :)
Parent Teacher Conferences are approaching quickly. Be on the look out for your Parent Teacher Conference Appointment. Once you receive it, please return it ASAP indicating whether you can attend that given time or not. Also, conferences are only 10 minutes long. Please be sure to confirm your appointment and show up on time out of respect for all families of Room 101.
While I know many students will be excited for Friday, we have to remember that when in school we are here to learn. Please remind students of this as we will each day as well.
