This weekend flew by. My little family went to the Easton's Children Museum on Saturday with Carly's friends Justin and Declan. She loves running around there. Her favorite part is the "doctor's office" because that's where all the baby dolls are. Carly loves her baby dolls! Today we enjoyed “Auntie Sunday” – which is when my sister comes over and spends the day with us (well, really Carly). We watch football, eat lots of snacks, and play games all day. We love Auntie Sundays!
It was so nice meeting everyone at Parent Teacher Conferences! Thank you so much for taking the time to come in and meet with Ms. D and I to discuss your child’s progress.
Did you check out our website? Many pictures were posted! Check out all our learning and fun!!
Willett is currently holding a Military Care Package Drive and a Canned Food Drive. Donations can be sent in with your student or dropped off in the Main Office. Thank you for your support!
On Friday, we had many students forget their library books! If your child was one of the six students who forgot to return his/her library book, please return it tomorrow. It is important that students return their library books every Friday, as the library is a key part of the Willett community.
There will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. There is also No School November 25-27 dye to Thanksgiving Break.
Thursday starts our new rotating Specials schedule. Day E will now be Music (not Art). Thus, our Specials Schedule is the following:
A: Technology
B: Music
C: Art
D: Gym (Please remember your sneakers!)
E: Music
If you are interested in ordering from November’s Book Club, orders are due back 11/13. If you are purchasing books as gifts for your student, please send me an email and I will inform you of when your order is in so you can pick it up at the office (or we can make other arrangements).
We are continuing our unit on Animal Habitats. This week we will dig deeper in non-fiction texts about the different Animal Habitats. Students will record information learned and soon pick a wild animal to research. Eventually, students will be making a ThingLink (iPad app) about an animal in its habitat.
We will also learn all about Veterans Day this week and why it is so important to us. This ties perfectly into our Military Care Package Drive that is currently going on (ending November 20th). We will write letters to Veterans thanking them for all that they have done for our country.
In Math we will use a number line to solve number stories, number sentences, and to skip count. Many students are struggling with skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s. Please work on this skill at home.
Please be sure to send the form back that went home last week with your contact information for Mrs. Friess! This will ensure you receive PTO and classroom information!
I hope you have a great week!
-Mrs. Bower
